Source Description
In this unusual example of Russian japonisme, the bowl's exterior bears three Japanese-style, circular family crests, each with a blue and violet speckled white crane as well as a red cloud. They are separated from each other by three bats colored, respectively, in light and dark blue, black and violet, and white and yellow, hovering in a cinnabar red background dotted with multi-colored clouds. There are two decorative borders: one around the rim consists of a row of lappet shapes in yellow, tan, and turquoise; the other circumscribing its base is composed of a band of turquoise lozenges.
