The garden on the left celebrates courtly, or unattainable, love: lovers exchange furtive glances before a flowery bower woven through a willow fence, while three court ladies weave garlands of roses. The scene to the right illustrates a more carnal love: the horse's toothy grin reflects the playful mood of the lovers' escapade in the woods.",
