Binding from On Christian rulers
This earlier binding was removed, preserved, and is housed separately from the manuscript. Decorated with red and yellow brocade, it was made by Gruel (probably after 1906) to replace a leather binding with a clasp and a pastedown from a thirteenth-century Gospel.
