Standing Bodhisattva

8th-9th century 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm) Citation Source image

This elegant princely figure stands for a Buddhist virtue or for a particular path towards Buddhahood. The object on top of the lotus in his left hand is too indistinct to be certain about his identification.
