Seated Buddha

10th-11th century (Dvaravati) 6 in. (15.2 cm) Citation Source image

The Buddha is depicted in the act of meditation. Certain details- the eyes, the lower edge of the hair curls, the form of the folded shawl that hangs across the chest- show that the sculpture dates from a period in which Dvaravati and Cambodian styles were mingling.
