Seated Canaanite

2nd millennium BCE (Middle Bronze Age) 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm) Citation Source image

The seated male figure, dressed in a long cloak, clasps his hands in front of his body in prayer. The identification of the statuette as Canaanite is based on stylistic parallels with sculptures from Hazor (in present-day Israel).
