5 D 5 June 1, 1927 Mies Antoinette Ahlschier Box 478 Atwood, My dear Miss Ahlschier Your letter addressed to Mrs Vaughan has been referred to me. Enclosed you will find letters of introduction to Dr Hamilton, the Director of the Protestant Hospital, Bordeaux, France, Miss Harriette Douglas, who is the resident nurse at the American National Univereity Club, 4 Rue de Chevreuse, Paris, and one to the Department of Nureing at the Deague of Red. Croes Societies, Parie. I regret that I cannot give you letters of introduction to Holland, Spain, Germany and Switzerland. While I know individual nurses here and there at the moment I seem to have mislaid their addreases. In England I should advise you to visit the Collage of Nursing, and also the headquarters of the National Association of of Great Britain. Their addresses can be determined thru the British Journal of Nursing, with beedquartere at 431 Oxford street, Loncon. The College will I em sure be in the telephone book. You probably will need no special lettera of introduction at oither of these places, but by telling them who you are and that I suggested the desira- bility of your visiting them, I em aure they will do everything they can to make it pleasant for you. If you, can be in Geneva I shall be delighted to introduce you to nursing representatives from many of the countries that you are visiting. They, unquestionably, will be preeent in cons derable numbers. I hope very much that you can visit the School at Boodeaux. Dr Hamilton feels that too few American I nurses have visited the American Nurses' Memorial and it is not - until we actually see an institution or an object that we are able to visualize not only what its like but ite possibilities f
