D FORM OS.2 ITEANTIC DIVISION C.File FR AMERICAN NATIONAL RED CROSS JUL 121919 INTER-OFFICE LETTER Date July 11, 1919 Peterred to To Miss Clara D. Noyes From MISS Florence M. Johnson H Subject 5 a My dear Miss Noyes: e As soon as we disconnected with you this morning we took up the matter of Miss Albaugh' Rude. salary with Mr. Read. I don't khow just where the misunderstanding came. I think it must have been la statement of mine that Miss Albaugh had never been on our payroll and that therefore it would be easy to add her increase, but I found she was getting her salary from Washington regularly and supposed of course she was getting the in- crease, until this morning. Mr. Read thinks it would be easier if the increase for June should be sent from Washington. If, however, it is going to make it difficult for you and you can let me know shortly, Mr. Read thinks he can fixt it here. We will put her on our payroll beginning x July first at twenty-four hundred. I am sorry the mistake was made, for I think it was my fault. She had never said anything about it and nou says if there is going to be any difficulty in arranging the increase for June she is perfectly A willing to have it begin on July first. Miss Hitchcock's began the first of June. protest Miss Albaugh, as she told you, is leaving us for her holiday beginning on Monday. Her friend from Oklahoma arrived today. They had not seen each other for eight years, and there is great re- joicing in the camp. She really is awfully tired and needs the holiday. I am wondering if she is to have a month on pay or if it is two weeks on pay and then two weeks leave.
