appendecitis. The fact that she was turned down, seems to have influenced many
5
of her classmates against an attempt to enroll. I feel assured that there must be
some good reason why she was not accepted, but a little light on this particular
case, which will be treated confidential, would help me to over come the prejudice
existing there, and possibly result in some good material.
The report of our census of Connecticut is in the hands of the printer,
and I hope to be able to mail to you very soon some copies of it, also that it will
be of some value to you.
Pérson ally, I realize there is as much to do here in Connecticut, as
elsewhere, and I have been pounding away as best I can, I am wondering if you feel
that I could be of more value fo my Country by keeping on pounding, or, do you want
to give me a chance to show you what a large unit of the best trained women in
Connecticut I could raise, and maybe handle, somewhere? I am so full of the needs,
and anxious to do what I can that I can hardly hold myself down, and wish very much
that you were coming this way soon again, or that I were going in the direction of
Washington, and we could talk over the Connecticut situation, rather than trying to
come to some understanding by letter. I realize it is almost cruel to inflict you
with a letter of this length, but how are we "aides" back here in the hills going to
get at the facts.
Yours sincerely,
RA NM
R. Inde alraugh, R.N.
Secretary.
