March 17,1944 Mrs. Charles Ray H Sandy Spring Maryland 5 a e My dear Mrs. Ray: It was with deep regret that we have learned of the death of your sister, Miss Rachael Inde Albaugh, who was one of our most outstanding Red Cross nurses, on March 6 at her home in Barkhamsted, Connecticut, and we should like to express our sincere sympathy to you and the other members of her family in your great loss. The memory of a life spent in unselfish service will be cherished by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her name will live always in the highest esteem and honor of the American Red Cross. We should like to have Miss Albaugh's records, which will be filed permanently at National Headquarters, as complete as possible and are wondering if among her effects were found her credentials as a Red Cross nurse, appointment card and badge, No. 105. If so, we shall appreciate their return, for filing card and badge of a Red were issued to her as credentials and always remáin of Cross with nurse her are records. recalled The upon appointment her death because the property they the American Red Cross.
