Miss R.Inde Albaugh,
1423 Alton Road,
Miami Beach, Florida.
My dear Miss Albaugh:
Bless you for your thought of us at the
troubulous time.
At present there is nothing in the way of
active service to ask of you but keep us in your thoughts
it is the biggest emergency sind the War.
I wish I could find words in which to
tell of the splendid cooperation of our Local Committees
and the promptness wi th which they sprang into action.
We have had no trouble in securing nurses and they them-
selves are rendering valiant service, there are well
over a thousand on duty today. We are working very well
here at headquarters. he Nursing Service recruits, the P.H.
assigns and the Hursing Field Representatives are Supervis-
ing in the disaster areas.
As yet we are not calling nurses from the extreme
South, for we must keep our eyes on the Missippi and have
nurses in reserve for that energency.
Here at Peadquarters we work day and night and then
hive just as much more to do. 1 am doing my own typing this
Sunday morning as I try to keep my staff in good physical
condi tion, so the overtime work is portioned out and 1 have
no help until one o' clock ashit is Sunday.
Again thanking you for your offer and be sure
I'll keep you in mind.
Affectionately yours
Director of Nursing
