Assigned to duty in the Tiflid District of the Caucasus Branch of the Near East Relief on April 2, 1920. Was put in charge of Orphanage Hospital (7) N 250" beds, Russian Ambulatory, Armenian Clinic and a Milk Station. The work in the Tiflis was most easily and pleasantly carried on under the efficient direction of Colonel Lonergan as head of the Tiflis District. After month there, Col. Haskell ordered an evacuation of the ent Batoum and from there to Constantinnple Seven women of one entire Caucasus Branch. All the women workers were sent to back, but on July lst, the British Garrison left Batoum and whom I was one were kept in Batoun hoping to be able to go again Col. Haskell thought it was wise to send us away. We returned to Constantinople and were assigned the Constantinople Branch of the N.E.R. from which I was assigned to to the Sivas Unit in Turkey. (Anatolia) On July 9th I went into the interior of Turkey Port to of Samsoun. Fere I served as a relief worker. Sivas, which is 250 miles south of the Black Sea, Frox Having charge of the women's industries, (weaving and rug makin the Apprentice Home of seventy-five boys, daily clinic in the Boy's Orphanage, and in December, in addition to my other work took complte control of the the Turkish orphanage of three hundred and fifty. ur work was pleasant and our relations with the Thr Turks most cordial.
