Beauchamp, Linnie 30281 Oct. 4, 1918. Miss Linnie Beauchamp, 1036 Oakview St., Memphis, Tenn. My dear Miss Beauchamp: In your application for enrollment in the Red Cross we note that you have asked for war service and you state that you are available at once. It seems to me that the work you aro now doing in the United States Public Health Service is as valuable and as patriotic as anything you could under- take. Perhaps you felt in making out your application that you were obliged to state your willingness to undertake some ther work than that which you are now doing. Such is not the case, and the Red Cross prefers of course, that you fill the place where you are most needed and it seems to me at present that your duty lies at Muscle Shoals. Thanking you for your interest in the Red Cross, I am, Yours sincerely, Assistant to the Director, Red Cross Bur eau of Public Health Nur sing. CV/W
