the responsibility of recruiting nurses for this service and making the
appointments, you will be under the jurisdiction of the O.C.D. of the
Territory of Hawaii from the time of your appointment. Your salary will
begin at the time of your arrival in San Francisco as will the employment
conditions under the O.C.D. as stated in the form which has already boen
sent to you. Therefore, the Red Cross insurance policy will not be issued
and Ive will appreciate it if you return all the insurance blanks which
were enclosed in our letter to you of August 22; nemely,

In planning for the supplies which you are going to take with you, we
have been advised that it is well for each nurse to be supplied with a Luer
syringe, a few needles and bandage scissors, as these things are now diffi-
cult to get on the Islands. This is not compulsory, but if you have these
things as part of your nursing equipment, it would be well for you to take
thera with you. Re will commieste with you in a very short time as to the
finel arrangements which need to be made in preparation for your departure
for Sen Francisco.
