Miss Christy Christians,
730 S. 14th St. E.,
Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
My dear Miss Christians:-
J.
The details of your preparation for foreign service are still pending,
but because of the considerable period required to comply with necessary
regulations as to the issuance of passports, it is suggested that you
-
proceed now to apply for a passport for service in Japan, Korea, China,
Manchuria, Russia and Siberia, letter will service as your authorization.
Please follow the directions in the preliminary information already
sent you but do not start for San Francisco until you receive specific
instructions to do so. Make your application to Clerk of Federal Court.
The Clerk of the Court will send the application with this letter
and the other necessary documents attached direct to the Department of
Personnel, American Red Gross, Washington, D. G., and not to the State
Department, as formerly.
As soon as the formalities of your preparation for foreign service have
been satisfactorily completed you will be notified by the Bureau of
Personnel in your Division, the date on which you are to report in
San Francisco.
Yours very truly,
minie H. ahreus
Director,
Bureau of Nursing Service
