My dear Miss Bowman:
Your letter resigning from our District
of Columbia Local Committee on Red Cross Nursing Service.
reached the office during my absence and it is with sincere
regret that I find it necessary to accept your resignation.
You seem so much a part of the American Red Cross in Washington
that we are going to miss you sadly.
I intended to write you before sailing for
my trip abroad but the weather was very hot and I had so many
last things to attend to that I did not accomplish my purpose.
Getting to Europe I planned to send you a postcard but found
I not only did not have your address with me but had also forgotten
it. Do come and see us once in a while.
With sincere regret and assuring you that as
soon as possible I will write you a personal letter, I am
