Miss Patience L. Clarke
American Red Cross Nursing Service
Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Clarke:-
Miss Ida M. Britton is now employed by us as a full-
time instructress and is capable in this work. She has a
pleasing personality, is quiet, studious and industrious. She
is especially anxious to give the service offered by the Harvard-
Red Cross project because of her interest in England which was
the land of her parents' birth. She combines the spirit of ser-
vice and a genuine scinetific interest in what this project may
learn while giving service. She would, of course, receive con-
siderably less in material remuneration in the work than she is
receiving here, yet she is anxious to do it. Her motives are
serious rather than mere desire for adventure. I believe she
would be a very good person for the work.
Cordially yours, arta deurs
