My dear Miss Britton:
This is in reply to your letter of November 15 expressing
interest in the American Red Cross-Harvard Hospital Unit. We are
selecting for staff duty approximately 50 nurses who have had
definite experience and preparation in the nursing care of communicable
diseases. Experience with the Harvard Unit offer's an unusall
opportunity to nurses with such training. Those who are appointed
to the Unit will not only be part of a significant undertaking, but
will beturn to their work in this country with an experience gained
which is seldom available. Further information about the Unit is given
on the enclosed sheet.
Since you are already an enrolled Red Cross Nurse which is one of
the requirements for such an appointment, we are sending to you in the
same mail an additional sheet, supplementary report of training and
experience, which gives information supplementary to that on file in
your enrollment folder. If you will rill this in and return it to us,
we shall be better able to give your application further consideration.
