My dear Major Forrest:
Some little time ago we heard in a
round-about way that Miss Ida Maude Britton, a former
member of our Red Cross Harvard Field Hospital Unit, who
was transferred to the Army Nurse Corps, had been released
from service. I regret I do not have her Army Serial
number which would make it easier for you to identify her.
As Mios Britton's transfer took place in
England, no travel order was prepared in this country.
We have not received formal notification
of her release which I would like to confirm if it has
actually taken place, with an indication of the reasons for
her release.
Sincerely yours,
Gertrude s. Banfield
