Miss Virginia M. Dunbar
Referrod
American Red. Cross Nursing Service
Washington, D. C.
Dear Miss Dunbar:
I am very happy to accépt the appointment, upon satisfactory physical examina-
ion, to the general nursing staff of the American Red Cross-Harvard Hospital Unit.
(I
shall secure the physical examination and return the forms to you as soon as possible.
Is there a place for a non-professional person to serve with this group in England?
Our Residence Director here, Mrs. Charlotte Lincoln, has become very much interested
in the project and asked me to inquire. She has been the Director of the Nurses'
Residence for the past year and a half, supervising the cleaning, giving attention
to the furnishings, linens, etc. I think her work has been entirely satisfactory,
and I know that she is a very fine person with an abundace of good Irish wit.
She is 47 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighs 125 pounds. The death of
her husband a year and a half ago made it necessary for her to leave her home and
secure somo sort of indome.
