Headquarters: Ballinger Bldg.
Phone No. 309
St. Joseph, Mo.

Nov. 26, 1918.
Miss Clara D. Noyes, Director,
Bureau o f Field Nursing Service.
Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Noyes:
Yours of the 18th received with the greatest of
pleasure, and truly encouraged to learn that Nurses were
still going-over
In regard to my application not having been received
by the Bureau of Personnel, must be due to my errors, in
not addressing it to the correct Department. As I wrote,
you" the 12th I had mailed it to the Department of State
Bureau of Citizenship. I also stated on the application
that the Passportshould be sent to Miss Florence Johnson,
44 East 23d Str. New York. This address I took rom yours
of Oct. 1, D.C. 170. Perhaps it should have gone to the
Division of Personnel 222 Fourth Ave.
Later I discovered my mistake, but assured myself
that upon its arrival in Washington it would be trans-
ferred to the proper authority For fear it-may be lost,
or delay my appointment, I am inclosing another application.
will you please see that it goes to the proper - Department
of Personnel. I will have to write my parents for their
affidavits, and will have them sent direct toBureau of
Personnel.
In regard to the photographs, I had the three dozen
small ones made.. I regret they do not comform to the inst
tructions of D.C. 170, will be glad to have them made, if
necessary. I received a letter from Miss Lyda W. Anderson,
our Division Pirector, with copies of the letter sent out
to the Nurses, who have given dates of avability.
