My dear Miss Noyes: Yours of the 18th received with the greatest of pleasure, and truly encouraged to learn that Nurses were still going-over In regard to my application not having been received by the Bureau of Personnel, must be due to my errors, in not addressing it to the correct Department. As I wrote, you" the 12th I had mailed it to the Department of State Bureau of Citizenship. I also stated on the application that the Passportshould be sent to Miss Florence Johnson, 44 East 23d Str. New York. This address I took rom yours of Oct. 1, D.C. 170. Perhaps it should have gone to the Division of Personnel 222 Fourth Ave. Later I discovered my mistake, but assured myself that upon its arrival in Washington it would be trans- ferred to the proper authority For fear it-may be lost, or delay my appointment, I am inclosing another application. will you please see that it goes to the proper - Department of Personnel. I will have to write my parents for their affidavits, and will have them sent direct toBureau of Personnel. In regard to the photographs, I had the three dozen small ones made.. I regret they do not comform to the inst tructions of D.C. 170, will be glad to have them made, if necessary. I received a letter from Miss Lyda W. Anderson, our Division Pirector, with copies of the letter sent out to the Nurses, who have given dates of avability. 5 3 5
