BRYANT, Sallie J. (Miss)
e
J.
On receipt of your memorandum of August 10, 1956, I checked
with the VA Master Index and learn that there is no record of a
Sallie Jane Bryant in the Index.
In the absence of a record establishing Army Nurse Corps
service, during WWI, Miss Bryant may endeavor to qualify for
benefits as a civilian employee (Red Cross nurse) who was taken
overseas by the United States for service in an army hospital.
If Miss Bryant wishes to establish entitlement to benefits as
8
civilian employee, she will be required to furnish the VA with
evidence which will clearly indicate that she is now suffering
from a disease or disability which may be considered the resi-
duals of en illness or an injury which was incurred during the
time that she was on active duty at an army base hospital.
We regret that we are unable to find evidence vhich might
establish Miss Bryant as having veteran's status for purposes of
laws administered by the VA.
