Miss Mlice L. Buckland,
1563 E. Stark Street,
Portland, Oregon.
My dear Miss Buckland:
May I acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 14th instant, re-
questins a duplicate Red Cross appointment card. By this I have no doubt
you refer to the small appointment card which is issued with the Red Cross
badge.
I note that you still have your original appointment card, but
the same is locked away with your personal effects in Chicago and you evident-
ly feel that it will be necessary for you to have this case before leaving
for active service. This is not necessary however, as you have your Red
Cross badge which signifies your enrollment in the Red Cross Nursing Service
and I would suggest that you leave your original appointment card where it is
until your return to this country.
With my best wishes, bélieve me as
Very sincerely yours,
Acting Director, Department of Nursing.
