Butler,\n139 Form Street,\nHartford, Conn.\nDear Madam:-\nThis to confirm the arrangements thich we unde stand have\nbeen made with you by the Bureau of Nursing Service.\nYour salary is to be $60.00 per month, dating from March\n1st, 1918.\nWe are to allow you for your traveling expenses to New York.\nThe Red Cross has arranged to pay your transportation expenses\nfrom New York to Bordeaux.\nAn allowance of $3.00 per day will be given to you while. in\nNew York, this allowance, however, will only be extended to you for three days\nprior to the proposed date of sailing.\nWe understand the question of allowance for your equipment and\nuniform has been covered by your correspondence with the Nurses' Bureau.\nArrangements will be made to pay for your living expenses\nwhile abroad.\nIn the event that you wish to make an assignment of part of\nyour salary to anyone in the United States, we would request that you indicate\nsuch assignment on the attached forms and return at your earliest convenience.\nWe call your attention to the fact that this is the only form that can be\naccepted by the Treasury Department here for making disbursements of salary\nin the United States.\nIf you will raport to our New York Office, regarding the expenses\nwhich you have incurred in this country, as per the above outline, you will be\nreimbursed for the full amount.\nWe would suggest that you retain this letter, as it may be\nrequested that you present it on arrival abroad.\nYours very truly,\nDivision of Transportation,\nBureau of Personnel.\nB.S"
