    "ocrText": "ATLANTIO DIVISION\nMiss Johnson, Director of Nursing,\nOctober 8, 19a9.\nMiss Noyes, Director, Dept. of Nursing\nIn reply to your letter of October 3rd, may I state that\nH\nfrom the papers on file in this office I carnot find that Miss Mary\nI, Campbell, number 35,586, just enrolled on September 30, 1919, is\nthe same nurse as Miss Mary J. Campbell, enrolled through the Buffalo,\nN. Y. Committee under number 28,083 on September 5, 1918. May\nI\nsubmit the following facts, shows by their application papers -\nMiss Mary J. Campbell - $28,083 - Buffalo, N.Y. Committee\nGraduate of the Woman's Christian Association Hospital,\nJamestown, N. Y., class of 1915.\nThe papers of this nurse\nare still in the War Department, travel orders for her assign-\nment to service at J.S.Army Base Hospital, Camp Wheeler, Macon,\nGeorgia, having been issued September 26, 1918.\nWe have just\nbeen in communication with the War Department and are informed\nthat Miss Campbell is still in the service. Miss Mary J.\nCampbell gives as the name and address of her nearest relative,\nMr. John L. Campbell (brothert, Brocatin, N. Y.\nMiss Mary I. Campbell - #35,586 - New Haven, Conn. Committee\nGraduate of the Greenwich General Hospital, Greenwich,\nConn., class of 1916.\nPermanent address given as Box 53,\nMiddlebury, Conn.\nThe nurse also gives the following as the\nname and address of her nearest relative\n-\n\"Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell, Mother,\nBox 53, Middlebury, Connecticut.\"\nThe records also show that Miss Campbell was a member\nhonorably of discharged with grade 1. We find there is a\nthe regular Army Nurse Corps until July -22, 1919 when she was\nthat\nnumber 2 card on file hore for this nurse.\nOf course her\nnumber 2 card should be on file with the New Haven, Conn. Committee\nand I am therefore enclosing the one which was on file with her\napplication papers. Will you please ascertain whether or not\nthe New Haven Committee has a number 2 card on file for Miss\nW\nCampbell and if so destroy this one we are sending you. If not\nplease forward the enclosed card to the New Haven Committee.\nAfter reading above, I feel sure you will agree with me that\nthese nurses are two separate and distinct women and I believe that in\nsome manner, through error, the address of Miss Mary I. Campbell the was\nplaced on your record of Miss Mary J. Campbell, envolled through\nBuffalo Committee.\nI trust the information I have given you will\nenable you to straighten out your records."
