My dear Miss Carothers:
Your letter of April 18th must have crossed my lettor
in which I told you that I hardly know how to advise you. Miss Noyes did
ask me what my opinion was and I told her 1 wasn't suro what to say as 1
had never hoard you do any public speaking.' I did say that I wasn't sure
voice would carry in a big opon hall such as are froquently used for
your chattauque meetings. For some reason I had the impression that your
voice though clear was not very powerful and I simply spoke of it in passing.
I suppose Miss. loyes thought it was best to ask you about it.
I suppose I am not un impartiul judge because I am
anxious to have you get buck in our own work which is the work you are best
fitted to do I am sure. I should be terribly disappointed if you went in
for private duty mursing but I know you have no intention of doing that.
I shall walt to hear what you think about the mountain position which 1 wrote
which you. I am sure you would do exceedingly well. Let me know what your final
