    "ocrText": "N\nJ\nAIR MAIL\nJunuary 30, 1943\nAREA OFFICE AND\nMaria\nMiss June Marjesnne DuShine,\nCOMMITTEE ADVISED\n308 Hungerford Avenue,\nNegaunee, Michigan.\nMAR 171943 It.\n3\nNy dear Miss DuShane:\nYour physical has been approved by our Red Cross medical ad-\nvisor, and we are now in a position to offer you an appointnent as Staff\nD\nNurse with one of the civilia mergency hospitals in the Hawaiian Islinds,\nwhich is under the jurisdiction of the Emergency Meqieal and Hospital Ser-\nu\nvice of the Torritorial Office of Civilien Defense in the Territory of\nHaweii. This position carries the salary of 6112.50 per month, including\nS\nfull maintenance and the luandering of your uniforms. Your salury will\nalso the termas of your employment with the Office of Givilion Defense, in\nshan\n5\nstart from the time you take your Oath of Office in Sen Francisco, as will\naccordance with the employment regulations enclosed.\nAs you havenoted, we have Advised you to take your own hospi-\ne\ntal cape. However, se shall supply you with three Red Cross caps and eignt\nRed Cross insigna to be worn on your miforms. These are now b ing sent\nfrom our Supply Department and should recen you within a short time. This\nequipment is in the form of a loan and you will be expeeted to return it\nto this office whenever you terminate your service there.\nThe required immunizations are smallpox, triple typhoid and\ntetanus toxoid. If you have not been vaccinated for smollpox within the\npast year, a repeat vecination is advised. As both the tetunus and typhoid\ninocul tions are gives in a series covering several weeks, you will need to\nstirt titese at once. If your imfunizations are not completed before you\nleave home, arrange to take the medication with you, and if an inoculation\ncones due while you are in San Francisco, please get in touch with Miss\nladyce Badger, Civic Auditorium, Larkin & urove Streets, vho is in charge\nofour Pacific Area Office, and who will make arrangements for this to be\ngiven. Enclosed are duplicate immunization foras. one is to be returned\nto this office, the other you will keep with you at all times. In ease\nyour inoculations have not been completed before you leave the M inland,\nplease return one immunization register to this office, indiciting the time\nthat the series will have been completed.\nI"
