My Dear Miss Noyes:- In reply to your letter of the 23rd, I am enclosing duplicate copie of the letters received by Miss Edith Kurtz from Miss DeWitt, hoping that they may meet Nith your approval. Pillsurgh 1 Miss Maria Rhodes has had training in the Childerns Hospital and I 5 a understand is not eligible for enrollment. Miss Rhodes has been Chief a Operating Room Nurse at the Eye and Ear Hospital since Oct Ist, I9I3. es We average I600 operations a year and I consider her work would be a valuable addition to ther Unit as she understands throughly the technique of the Ophthalmologist and Otologist going with the Unit and as these physicians are not allowed to take their own assistants we are trying to take nurses who understand their methods. I have not a nurse on the list who can do the work that Miss Rhodes can do. She is a member of the Penna State Nurses Association and is registered in Penna. Miss Thompson who is also a Childerns Hospital graduate we had hoped to able to use as anesthetist as well as nurse- her previous experience would make her valuable.
