Is one of six children four of
whom are blind. No education
until 18 years old, because had
to care for blind brothers and
sisters.
No schools for the
blind in N.Dakota, so family
moved away. Was herself sent
to live with a. partly blind
person in Chicago in order to get
some education, but was allowed
to go to school at night only.
Physical defects.
Poor vision.
Inflammatory rheumatism two
years ago. Pyorrhoea.
Operation for goitre 3 years
ago.
Sent back to New York, NoVv.
1918, unfit for active service.
