Dear Miss Dines:
It was lovely of you to write me immediately
about Ella Crendall. I think, as you say, that it was a
beautiful way to die, but it is a real shock to me
especially since I saw her so lively, so well and so dear
one morning at the Cosmopolitan Club just before I came
away. It is hard to believe that I shall not see her there
or anywhere else on earth again.
