COPY Mr. Mitchell March 1, 1941 Mr. Downing Miss Dunbar Michal We recommend that the following nurses be placed on the peyroll beginning February lst, and that they be paid the salary which they have been offered as members of the Harvard Unit, plus a $50. monthly maintenance while the Unit is waiting for sailing orders. These nurses found it necessary to regign their positions February lst in order to be available for appointment to the Harvard Unit, as we had instructed them in December that the sailing date might be around February 15th. Salary per month Maintenance Helen Cameron $80.00 $50 Edna M. Cree 80.00 50 Elisabeth Phillips 208.33 50 We recommend the same for Virginia L. M. Robinson, salary $80 per month, maintenance $50. Miss Robinson was appointed to the Unit in November, at which time we thought the Unit might be sailing about January 15th. Miss Robinson was employed by one of our Red Cross Chapters, and it was necessary for the Chapter to replece her on January lst. As Miss Phillips has been given another appointment beginning February 25th, the recommendation in her case applies only for the dates February lst through 24th. There are one or two other nurses on whom we are obtaining definite information regarding the possibility of their staying in the positions where they are but who are having défficulty and may have to resign in order to be available.
