Form No. 222
THE AMERICAN RED CROSS
NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS
WASHINGTON, D. C.
INTER-OFFICE LETTER
To
Mr. Munroe - General Manager's Office.
Date
January 15, 1919.
From
Mr. W. D. Smith, Director - Bureau of Foreign Personnel.
Subject Miss Jane A. Delano:-
I send you herewith correspondence received as the
result of my investigation of the rumor that Miss Jane A. Delano,
Director - Department of Nursing, National Headquarters, was put
to considerable trouble and inconvenience in securing her pass-
port, eventually find it at the Y. M. C. A. in New York City.
This correspondence clearly indicates that the Depart-
ment of Personnel at National Headquarters, or at its Branch Office
at 222 Fourth Avenue, New York City, was in no wise responsible.
May I ask you to return this correspondence when you have
finished with it?
