I an handing you horowith the application of Niss Jane
Delano, who for nine years has bsen the Director of the
Department of Mursing of the American Red Cross.
In view of the position which Mise Deleno occupies, I Teel
very cenfident that the War Department vill not feal it necessary
to make the usual investigation with respect to her loyalty
and I an asking you to scept in lieu thereof, tao letters, one
from Mr. George z. Scott, General "anager of the Red Croas, and
the other Eliot Wadeworth, its Vico-Chairman.
Miss Delano hopes to sail in the course of a very few days
on official business and her prompt clearance will bs very
approciated.
