Dr. Rupert Blue,
Surgeon General, U.S. Public Health Service,
Washington,
D.C.
Dear Dr. Blue:
No loss has come to the Red Cross
which has affected us so deeply 8.8 our loss
through the death of Miss Jane Delano, who
has been so intimately associated with our
work, and has accomplished so much in the
field of nursing.
In all of our divisions, the svening
of Wednesday, May seventh, has been set aside
as an occasion for memorial services to com-
memorate her memory.
In Washington, the meeting will be held
at sight o'clock in the evening on May seventh
at the hall of the D.A.R.
It will be especially appropriate, in
view of the field and character of Miss Delano's
services, if you can be present. It will still
farther be appreciated if you will consent to
address the meeting briefly, simply to aid in
expressing the general sense of loss.
Will you please let me know if you can
come, and if it will be possible for you also
to address the audience, if only for two or three
minutes ?
Sincerely yours,
Vice Chairman.
