Miss Martha Eakins,
Cheriton, Virginia.
My dear Miss Eakins:
May I thank you for your recent letter
giving us an account of Miss Delano's visit to A.R.C. military
Hospital n. Even though we were in a measure prepared for
the news of Miss Delano's death it has been a shock to us all.
It is difficult to appreciate that she will never return
the office.

seventh. I with that you might be able to attend the one
in Washington at the D. A. R. building on that date.
I do remimber you quite distinctly as
a member of one of my classe at Teachers College. I am
glad that you are at last having a rost in a country where
there is Very little to remind one of the terrible war. I
was very sorry that you could not call upon me when passing
through Washington, but hope that you may be able to. do so
on your return. With best wishes, I am
Vory truly yours,
