LIFE OF MISS JANE A. DELANO.
Birthplace, Montour Falls, New York.
Graduated from Bellevue Training School for Nurses, 1886.
1887 - Supt. of Nurses, Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida, during
the epidemic of Yellow Fever.
1888- In charge of the nursing activities in Mining Camp
Hospital, Bisbee, Arizona.

1896 - 1898 - At home, Montour Falls, New York.
1898 - Private Nursing, N. Y. C.
Course at the New York School of Civics and Philanthropy.
1900 - April 1902 - Supt. Girls' Department, House of Refuge,
Randall's Island, New York City.
May 1902 - October 1906 - Super intendent Training School for Nurses,
Bellevue Hospital, New York.

1907 - At home, Charlottesville, Va.

1908 - Traveled abroad.
1909 - Accepted Chairmanship of `Red Cross Nursing Service, and
appointed as second Superintendent of Army Nurse Corps in
which capacity she traveled in the Philippines, Hawaii,
China and Japan, and was decorated by the Japanese Govern-
ment, the American Institute for Social Science, by Greece,
and by President Taft in behalf of the Red Cross (Exact
dates of decorations unknown.)
1912 - Resigned superintendency of Army Nurse Corps to devote entire
time to the Red Cross Nursing Service.
January 2nd, 1919 - Sailed for France on the S. S. George Washington,
and died at Savenay, France, April 15th while on
active duty for the American Red Cross.
