Mr George à Brakely,
Managing Editor, Red Oross Magazine
124 East 28th Street,
New YOYork, New Yorke
My dear Mr. Brakely:
I have read in the December issue of the
Red Cross Magazine the sympathetic poem which you have dedicated
to Mias Jane A Delano. May I takt this opportunity to thank you for
this tribute which I feel will mean much to the nurses of America
who love and honouz her memory.
With rog ard to the article on page forty-five,
I um very sorry to note the inaccuraries in the biographical sketch,
viz. she graduated from Bellevue Training School in 1886 rather than
1896; she was never to my knowledge Superintendent of the hospital,
but of the Training School; she was affiliated with the Rei Cross
in 1909 rather than in 1905.
Thile I appreciate that these are relatively un-
important details which probably will not be noticed by the rank and
file of your readers, yet they do arrest the attention and evoke the
unfavorable criticiom of the nurses and doctors. who know the
events of hor life.
I am under the impression that Miss Pickett
forwarded you correct material such as is herewith attached regard-
ing all of those points.
Very truly yours,
Director, Department of Nursing
