JANE A DELANO
To erect "upon the silent shore
Of memoryimagesandpreciousthoughts
Which shall net die and cannot be destreyed.'
A National Committee has been formed to secure
funds forüthe purpose of erecting a Memorial fitting
in characteroto the memory of Jane A. Delamo
TP Many suggestions as to the form which this Memor-
ial should take) have already been made. A portrait
statues against a bas-reliefy descri ive
of the
nature and spirit of Nursing, to be placed in the
groundswef.the National Headquarters American Red
Cross, Washingten, been suggested by many
friends of Miss Delano. Other suggestions are desired.
T The NationalaCommittee estimates that the cost of
swoh a. Memorial wi probably be fif ty thousand dollars.
A nucleus for this fund was raised during the spring
state
of 1919 by American Red Cross nurses, then in France.
It is beleived that all nurses mursing
and
especially the thirty-seven and thousand friends American of
Red Cross murses will desire, to centribute towards
the erection of this Memorial to the founder of the
American Red Cross Nursing Service.
II The National Committee hopes to complete the
fund by January 1,1922.
