Dept of Fureign accounts
My dear Miss Hay:
In the absence of Miss Noyes, we are
endeavoring to carry on her work, in a very feeble
manner, and on May 14th the following cable was received,
signed by Mr. Keppel, London:
"Did you take up 21406 with General Ireland,
who is personally interested;also Ralph Hayes."
To which we sent the following reply:
"Replying your 2629, personal interview Gen.
Ireland by Kerr and Noyes."
supposing, of course, that he had advised with you or was
in close communication with you.
Prior to your cable of May 5th,#21406,
Miss Kerr has been in Washington and Miss Noyes and she
had an interview with Miss Stimson, Superintendent of the
Army Nurse Corps, as she believed that General Ireland
could be reached in this way rather than directly. I am
enclosing a copy of a letter from Miss Stimson, follow-
ing the interview which was had. I am also sending you
an extract from a letter just received from Miss Kerr,
hoping that this information will help rather than hinder
any plans which may be under way regarding the transfer
of Miss Delano's body to this country.
Very truly yours,
Again eg Draws.
Assistant to Director,
Department of Nursing.
