My dear Colonel Kean
I am sorry to hear that you are a
patient.at Walter Reed, altho delighted to know that
you are well enough to dictate a letter, If one muet
be ill in a hospital, personally I know of no pleasanter
place than Walter Reed.
The picture which I sent to you was
taken on board the S S George Washington. Miss Sophie
Kiel, an American Red Cross nurse, was with one or tivo
oth r nurses assigned to that boat by the Navy and made
many tripe back and forth, including the now historic
ones made by President Wilson. I do not recall the name
of the other officer who was with you, but 1 imagine it
