hereby agree to hold myself in readiness and to enter the service of the American
National Red Cross when and where my services may be required as a nurse, with com-
pensation at the rate of forty dollars per month when on duty in the United States and fifty
dollars per month when without the limits of the United States, in addition to transportation
and subsistence.
