DIOCESE OF NEWARK TWENTY-ONE WASHINGTON STREET NEWARK, NEW JERSEY RT. REV. WILSON R. STEARLY, BISHOP COADJUTOR Oct. 15, 1923. REOD Miss Clara D. Noyes, National Headquarters, American Red Cross, Washington, D.C. My dear Miss Noyes: I was talking some days ago with Miss Isabel Stewart of the Teachers' College at Columbia University about an Executive Secretary for the Guild of St. Barnabas for Nurses. She spoke incidentally of a Miss Douglas who she thought had done some work under your direction. If this is so would you advise me in regard to her? The Guild of St. Barnabas is a small organ- ization with about forty branches in various cities. Its aim is to help to make religion a real and vital force in the nurses' lives. We are looking for a young woman who could take up the work of promoting our idea. She would have to deal both with nurses and with groups of fine women, the latter in order to get their interest in and support of the work. She might have to do a certain amount of travelling. If you know about Miss Douglas would you mind telling me whether she is available at present and whether she might be interested in such a piece of work. Sincerely yours, A735
