Referred to
Dear Miss Delano-
Cre of my former graduates,
Miss Harriette Douglas, of Washington, has, I
believe, applied to you for some work in con-
nection with the Red Cross. and as I happen
to have seen her recently, and know how very
necessary it i s for her to have remunerative
work, I am writing you on her behalf.
of course, as she will have told you,
she may be rather rusty as far as active
nursing goes, for she has been keeping house
for Bishop Harding ever since her sister died,
but knowing her to be a woman of superior
intelligence and ability, I think she should
be able to fill a position of trust very well
as she is adaptable and conscientious to a
degree. I also think she possesses executive
ability.
Anything you can do for Miss Douglas,
will be much appreciated by me, as I have always
been very fond of her.
