My dear Mies DuBrau:

Enclosed ie the Christmas letter which I
send to oll the absont members of our femily when I happen to
know their addrese. will you clac tell hise Ayere that this
is intended for her, too?
A letter just received from Mies Francie,
from Constantinople, telle me that they have traneferred their
hospital from the German institution to an apartment house, which
hae five flocre and a bsgement. They have built S large kitchen,
and seversl other small in the garden. They have also
been obliged to rent e large apartment neerby for some of the
graduatee end students. She also speske of the difficulties of
moving because of the secumulation of material, etc. The senior
clese of eix Turkish studente graduate in Jenuary. They! are
only able to take in a n clage of siz, which they regret
because eighteen good caodidates have applied, the majority being
Turkith. The Junior class, however, hae eixteen. With her
letter she sendo me 8 very interesting, maro shich ehowe the lops-
tion of the new hospital, which ie - 91 Teshviklye
They have eleven private roons; twelve bede in & semi-private
ward; twenty-four bede in an adult ward; eight beds for children;
to nursery for fourteen infents and total capacity of fifty-nine
patiente. I em sure Misé Fr noio sould be glad to send you en
ennual report if you were to write to her. Dr. Shepherd, by the
way, ie the wargeon-in-Chief and Medical Director.
I shall never forget my last vieit to
Constantinople end ho: much I enjoyed it. I probably shall never
go gain, but if I do not, having nade two visita to that wonder-
fully old city I feel that I have been very fortunate. Pith kind
