Dear Mrs. Evans:
You have read that one of the two lifeboats was picked up by
a
passing ship and that two of the group of nurses with Phyllis were
rescued and taken to Londonderry in Ireland. Those two are Helen
Jurewicz and Peggy Sonerville.
Te have as yet had no news of a rescue of those in the other
lifeboat, and we have been told that inasmuch as the waters had been
searched so carefully for the boats, any rescue wag very unlikely.
But we cannot help hoping with all our hearts for another miracle.
I think often of you and long to give you comfort.
