Miss Patience L. Clark
American Red Cross Nursing Service
Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Clark:
Your letter regarding Phyllis Lou Evans,
a graduate of the Whidden Memorial Hospital, is
received.
Miss Evans affiliated in the Haynes
Memorial, which is the Communicable Disease Depart-
ment of this hospital, from January 20, 1939, to
April 27, 1939, having been ill 9 days. During 1939
the daily average of patients in this department was
52.77.
The Haynes Memorial is used as a teaching
field by Harvard School of Public Health, and receives
patients from about 70 different communities around
Boston. There is, therefore, a wide variety of cases
and experience.
I believe Miss Evans is qualified to do
Communicable Disease nursing under conditions which
the Harvard Unit would meet.
Very truly yours,
Marsact Dieter
