within the next few months which is highly improbable.
You will be interested in the enclosed clipping
showing that Siam has organized its national Nurses
Association. I think that this is a result of the Tokyo Conf
ference a.s the two moving spirits here, Phya Damrong and
Miss Proum were both there in No vember. I had nothing to do
with it and they did it all themselves, and when it was all
done they asked me to go on their committee which of course
I accepted with pleasure. The opening was very
formal and the Prince who spoke gave the association a fine
send off. Though the Red Cross took the initiative in the
matter it is not a Red Cross Association but a national
one. Everywhere, nursing is going forward. Mistakes are being
madebut this is inevitable and we are all doing the same.
You must certainly take a trip to the East the
next time you move out of the States a.s I know you would
find it all very interesting and very unlike Europe.
The new reorganization in the Rockefeller Founda-
tion is most interesting and places Miss Crowell and Miss B
Beard on the letter heads as Assistant Directors in the
Division of Medical Education. We are now in that division
and Mr Embree's division no longer exists and he has
become vice president of the Foundation with Mr Gunn of
Paris and Mr. Greene of Peking also as vice presidents.
I am delighted that nurses have at last been given prominenc
on paper as they had it in (reality.
I hope that Judge Payne will return to Washington
none the worse for his long trip. He has certainly left
a good impression behind him and made many friends for the
League and incidentally for the A.R.C.
I do hope to hear from you soon again and I am
so glad that you are so fit and well.: I wonder if this
letter will, catch you before you leave for Geneva for the
interim conference? It will be very interesting I am sure
and I wish I could attend as a visitor.
With all good wishes for your trip, if
in time, and hoping that you will enjoy your vacation
I am very sincerely yours
