Dear Miss Butler:
I am very anxious to meet Mr. Normal Davis, the
new chairman of the Red Cross, to discuss with him a book of
Reminiscences on which I am working and in which the A.R.C.
figures very greatly and also the situation (nursing) in China.
I would be willing to go to Washington to see you and Mr. Davis
if necessary but find it hard to leave my typewriter even for a
day at this time. So, I am wondering if Mr. Davis at some time
when he is in New York would be kind enough to grant me an
interview at your request.
I hope that you received a letter which I wrote
to you as soon as I heard, many months ago, that you were willing
to stay on at the Red Cross, telling you how delighted I was as
no one I know was better fitted than you to carry on.
With best wishes, I remain
Very sincerely yours,
(SIGNED)
