I would like to recommend approval of scholarship aid
for Miss Helon M. Flanagan. fer the academic year beginning
September 1947. Miss Flanagan is at the present time
disaster nursing consultant in the Southeastern Area.
She served with Red Cross from February 1942 until August
1943, and was reappointed in April 1946.
She ie eligible for the G. I. Bill of Rights money which
she is using to pay for her tuition and books plus $65.00
a month maintenance. She is requesting scholarship assistance
to meet the balance of the cost of maintenance, namely a
total of $405.00.
At Miss Flanagan's request I suggest that this be paid in
two equal installments, the first one October 1, 1947, and
the second one February 1, 1948.
This request has been approved by the area manager, Mr.
Jefferson, and Miss Magnussen, the Birector of Nursing Service.
