    "ocrText": "S\n+\nJune 2, 1942\nAIRMAIL\nMiss Stephanie Fannie Foto\n2712 Clairmont Avenue\nBirmingham, Alabama\nF\nMy dear Miss Foto:\nWe have received your wire indicating your availability for service\nwith the American Red Cross Unit in Hawaii, and are enclosing forms for\nyour physical examination and immunization vaccines. These should be\nfilled out and returned to us at once.\n1. Physical examination form 1193\n2. Immunization form\nThe report of your physical examination will, of course, have a great\nJeal to do with your acceptance for the assignment and we expect that you\nwill have a thorough examination, as a foreign assignment would be unwise\nunless your physical condition is excellent. Please take the responsibility\nof impressing your physician with this fact/ Select your own physician\nand inform him that the Red Cross is prepared to pay for your examination,\nnot to exceed $5.00. His bill, if there is one, should be submitted to this\noffice in care of the Nursing Service./Note the required immunization.\nTetanus toxoid is also required but can be arranged when we notify you that\nyou have been definitely accepted. Yellow fever vaccine will be administered\nat the port of embarkation. Your teeth should be in good condition so that\nit will not be likely that you will need dental work.\nThe assignment which we are offering you gending completion of satis-\nfactory credentials is forranesthetist with the understanding that you will\nserve\nas a general staff nurse/if necessary./ or emergency\nWe do not as yet have definite word of the date of the Unit's leaving\nalthough it is possible that we may be asked to have the nurses ready on\nrather short notice.
